Morning Harvest Processional at ARTfarm. Open 10 AM – 12 noon, Beautiful Beets, Basil

20140621-072138-26498782.jpgThis harvest report just in from Farmer Luca: “Beautiful beets this morning with lovely greens. Also really nice basil — basil goes great with mangoes and pineapple for salsa with our sweet, flavorful red onions!”

Fresh today for you: sweet salad mix, baby spicy salad mix, baby arugula, microgreens, cucumbers, sweet corn, a handful of tomatoes, purple long beans, cooking greens, beets, radishes, onions, Italian basil, garlic chives, recao, mint, lemongrass, passionfruit, papaya, pineapples, tamarind pods, native trees and pineapple slips. All grown here using USDA NOP (organic) methods in the soil with rainwater.

From our partners we will have raw local honey, coconut vegan ice cream in local fruit flavors from Feeli, beautiful handmade breads from Tess, and mangoes plus free samples of some unusual fruits from Tropical Exotics!

ARTfarm Saturday: Morning Mangoes!

Open as always on Saturdays, 10 AM – 12 noon. Travel south to our balmy microclimate and pick up your healthy fruit+vegg for the week!

Sweet salad mix, baby spicy salad mix, baby arugula, microgreens, crunchy cucumbers, purple long beans, carrots, beets, radishes, onions, kale, collards, sweet potato greens, dill, cilantro, chives, mint, thyme, recao, Italian basil, fresh-cut Zinnia flowers. Summer fruit season is definitely getting underway: pineapple, passionfruit, papaya, black sapote, tamarind, and and mamey apples and Julie mangoes from the amazing orchard of Tropical Exotics!
Raw local honey from Mr. Errol Chichester, happy hen eggs from Marti Gotts, artisanal bread loaves from Tess. Yummy yummy yummy.

If you haven’t yet experienced the sweet potato greens, they are a glorious accompaniment to any recipe, or perhaps as a side with a little mango on top. We like to cook the sweet potato greens by boiling them for 4–6 minutes, drain and then dress with olive oil, lime juice, and Braggs amino acids or your choice of soy sauce.

Last ARTfarm Monday for the Summer! 3–6 p.m. Today

Today will be the last ARTfarm Monday farmstand for the season. It’s almost summertime, people! Mangoes dreaming of setting big fruit. We will continue to be open on Wednesdays, 3–6 p.m., and Saturday mornings, 10 AM – 12 noon.

Today’s harvest: Microgreens, baby arugula, bagged arugula, sweet salad mix, sweet corn, pineapples, passionfruit, bananas, cherry tomatoes, slicing tomatoes, and I-Sha’s vegan creamy coconut ice cream in various local fruit varieties!

ARTfarm Saturday 10am – 12noon! Drying out!

Well, that was quite the heavy rinse cycle over the last two weeks, but we did not wash away into the sea. We’ve got a lot of variety for you this morning: sweet salad mix, spicy salad mix, arugula, baby spicy salad, cucumbers, bodhi beans, kale, Chinese cabbage, dandelion greens, lettuce heads, radishes, beets, sweet potatoes, sweet potato greens, four types of basil, cilantro, dill, parsley, recao, garlic chives, thyme, sage, rosemary, lemongrass, Julie mangoes, native trees, pineapple slips, fig trees, and zinnia flowers. All grown here in the sweet and spicy South Shore cattle country soil by Luca, Justin, Kiko and Joy.

From our friends: Errol’s super dark honey, vegan fruity ice cream from I-Sha, breads from Tess, carambola and eggfruit from Alex, and fresh wahoo and dolphin from Ryan and Kim.
