Today we bring you the wondrous and rare Mamey Apple. Come and enjoy a taste, and take home one of these delicious globes of fruity wonder. The brown, rough skin easily peels off to reveal its golden orange firm flesh inside. The taste has hints of apple, papaya, mango – it has a citrusy tang on the finish and a slightly mealy and firm texture like an apple or a pear. The mamey apple is a relatively rare fruit, not widely cultivated. So it is an especially fantastic local treat. Try one! From Alex Etienne’s Tropical Exotics farm.
