ARTfarm Spooky Wednesday PM Dragonfruit Popup 10/30/24, 5 – 5:45pm

Spooky holiday treats! Dragonfruit!

Wednesday’s October 30th ARTfarm PopUp features a mini avalanche of dragonfruit, sweet and juicy! Also a few herbs and baby pineapple plants, and a few pomegranates and sweet potatoes for the early birds.

As usual at this time of year, it’s been just a handful of people so it’s usually a good time to bring your gardening questions and chat with Farmer Luca. We have some great new volunteers and are always looking for more helpers. Tell a friend if you know someone who might be interested in learning more about sustainable, regenerative gardening practices — we would always love and appreciate some help in the gardens and with a few other tasks as well.

We’ll see you Wednesday 10/30/24 from 5pm – 5:45pm. No reservations; first come, first served. Here’s the list:

ARTfarm Wednesday PM Longan & Dragonfruit Popup 8/7/24, 5:30 – 6:15pm

Low hanging fruit! We love it when people grow their own dragonfruit at home! Great job, Stacey!

Wednesday’s August ARTfarm PopUp features dragonfruit and once again, lots of luscious longan fruits. Also a few herbs and baby pineapple plants. It’s been just a handful of people so come with your gardening questions and keep the farmer company.

No reservations; first come, first served.

Plenty

Longan
Dragonfruit
Lemongrass
Turmeric
Pineapple slips

TBT: Roi collecting sunflower seeds. Piles of harvested pineapple slips await peeling and planting.
TBT: Our adopted border collies, Ginger and Spice (now 11!), vigilantly patrolling the pineapple gardens over the years to discourage rats. We’ve seen these athletic dogs leap all the way over the row of spiny plants during the hunt. This is still a viable and much more entertaining alternative to poisons for controlling crop pests on an organic farm. During dry times there is increased pressure from all pests on farm crops and resources. Good farm dogs make a world of difference.

Stay cool, and see you Wednesday afternoon! 5:30 – 6:15pm.
