ARTfarm Wednesday PM Longan & Dragonfruit Popup 8/7/24, 5:30 – 6:15pm

Low hanging fruit! We love it when people grow their own dragonfruit at home! Great job, Stacey!

Wednesday’s August ARTfarm PopUp features dragonfruit and once again, lots of luscious longan fruits. Also a few herbs and baby pineapple plants. It’s been just a handful of people so come with your gardening questions and keep the farmer company.

TBT: Our adopted border collies, Ginger and Spice (now 11!), vigilantly patrolling the pineapple gardens over the years to discourage rats. We’ve seen these athletic dogs leap all the way over the row of spiny plants during the hunt. This is still a viable and much more entertaining alternative to poisons for controlling crop pests on an organic farm. During dry times there is increased pressure from all pests on farm crops and resources. Good farm dogs make a world of difference.

ARTfarm Wednesday PM Longan Fruit Popup 7/24/24, 5 – 6pm

Bright neon pink dragonfruits have soft spiky 'scales' that give them their name.
Beautiful late summer dragonfruits. These drought-tolerant pithayas are sweet and refreshing in the hot days of July, August and September!

Pop-up farmstand on Wednesday – pump the brakes and watch out for the road clearing crews to the east of the farm, giving the South Shore a much needed trim! They’re going high and tight!

Wednesday’s ARTfarm PopUp features lots of luscious longan fruits. Early birds will also choose amongst other seasonal treats like pineapple and soursop. We’ll have a few pomegranates and dragonfruit!

ARTfarm Saturday AM: Longan & Dragonfruit… 7/20/24, 11am – 12 noon

Longans at ARTfarm. These addictive little fruits pack a sweet crunchy juicy punch inside a leathery outer skin.

Another fruity pop-up summer ARTfarmstand on Saturday – the longan trees have exploded with fruit. Come out again on Saturday at elevenses ’til noon, and get your crunchy sweet longan groove on! They are gnot genips but in the fam of the rambutan…

We’ll have a few pineapple fruits, and plenty of slips available to try growing your own!

Pineapples are typically a spring-summer treat that appear on the harvest list as the tomatoes begin to wane in the heat! They are a fairly drought resistant crop – try your hand at growing a few with our instructional video! How to Plant Your Pineapple Slips

ARTfarm Holiday Pop-Up Farmstand Saturday Morning 12/16/2023, 10:30 – 11 am!

We’re OPEN tomorrow Saturday at 10:30am for a POP-UP (no reservations, first-come first-serve) early season farmstand. Sweet salad mix and dragonfruit (red and pink)! Pink sweet ‘n’ spicy radishes, plus fresh herbs: Italian, Thai and lemon basils, lemongrass, small-leaf Italian oregano, and fresh juicy garlic chives. This is quick, just half an hour!

Thanks to all who came out for our ARTfarm ART exhibition December 1st and the closing party last weekend! If you missed it or purchased an artwork and want to pick it up, “Hope For the Future” at Studio Walsh gallery in Peters Rest is coming down Saturday. The gallery will be open for final viewing 10am -12 noon, and pickup 12 – 2pm.
