Rain or shine – ARTfarm opens tomorrow (Saturday)!!

For true! ARTfarm is opening for the season tomorrow (Saturday, October 13) at 10 AM! It’s supposed to be raining buckets in the morning! We love rain! We love moisture! Come and play in some puddles with us!

Tomorrow morning’s farmstand, rain or shine, will feature iron-rich green leafy vegetables that can help build up your reserves; as Halloween is coming, is it not? We’ll have: microgreens, micro/lettuce mix (weather permitting), bunched arugula, young dandelion greens, radishes, Nam doc mai mangoes, limes, lemongrass, garlic chives, holy, italian and thai basil, local dark honey from Wanda’s friend Patricia Cabral, and zinnias.

We ate steamed radish tops with lime juice last night and they were AMAZING. And today, we were full of ENERGY…

Soon come!

We will be open (finally!) in two weeks, Saturday, October 12th! We’ll be welcoming everyone back with lettuce greens, microgreens, basil and garlic chives, and local honey, with cucumbers, beets and arugula soon to follow.

It has been so hot this fall that we just decided to delay planting of some things so that the plants would be stronger. Like a turnaround after a long recession, the summer fallow is starting to show signs of life!

ARTfarm on a short break

Fresh figs are planned for production next season! See you in September!

ARTfarm will be on a short break for the next few weeks while we give the gardens a rest. Sorry for any inconvenience. We will resume our Saturday farmstands in September and look forward to another diverse growing season with you all! Thanks for your business, we appreciate it.

Today’s the last Wednesday ARTfarmstand for the season!

A bonanza of freshly picked greens and treats await ARTfarm customers today from 3-6pm down on the south shore.

We’ll have baby salad mix, sweet mix with baby greens, arugula, a few bunches of cooking greens, mangoes, pineapples, soursop, lemon basil, lemon grass, garlic chives, Feeli and Shalima’s vegan ice cream, and Wanda’s raw local honey.

This will be the last Wednesday ARTfarmstand for the summer. We will continue to be open every Saturday from 10am-12noon. There may be two or three weeks coming up where we won’t have salad greens on Saturday, but we’ll have other organically produced summer treats. (The ARTfarmers are giving the garden beds their regular well-deserved summer break.) Check back on our website or on Facebook for a list of what we’ll have!

Thanks for supporting local growers like us. We appreciate it.*

*That means you too, Jimmy Adams, Elroy, and Sam!
