We’ve also got some Luscious mango varieties from Dennis Nash, fresh harvested Lemongrass (aka fevergrass – a cooling tea to keep iced in your hydration toolbox), and some pineapple sLips for planting. Early bird specials include September plums and pastured eggs from Mongoose&Zinna. We will be open for a POP-UP (no reservations, first-come first-serve) farmstand in the afternoon, Wednesday, September 6, 2023, 5 – 5:30pm.

See you Wednesday!

ARTfarm Fruity Summer Popup Saturday 8/5/2023, 11:30 am – 12 noon! Longans!

Once again it’ll be short, but sweet. Will be open Saturday August 5th, 2023, for a POP-UP (no reservations, first-come first-serve) farmstand 11:30-12 noon.

Plenty of: Dragonfruit (both pink and red), Haitian kidney mangoes, fresh ginger and turmeric root, and pineapple slips

A few: longan fruit bunches, bunched small sweet onions with green tops, lemongrass, Italian basil, a few dozen eggs

First come first serve. Talk to Farmer Luca about volunteering! We have tasks in both sun and shade available to those who want to learn a little about organic gardening and have some reflective time getting grounded.

Because it’s a quieter time of year, we are not expecting a big crowd. Looking forward to seeing you! Thank you so much.

Juicy “dragon eye” longan fruits, related to rambutan and lychee, have a leathery outer skin that pops off to reveal a juicy sweet pulp over a hard, non edible black glossy seed that will sprout a new tree! These are very sweet fruits high in Vitamin C!

Late Summer Pop-Up – 11:30-12 noon Saturday

It’s dry as anything out here on South Shore, but we have a few crops that can still produce in these hottest months of the year. ARTfarm will be open tomorrow, 11:30 to 12 noon on Saturday 9/11/2021: Three types of sweet and refreshing dragonfruit (pitahaya), turmeric, garlic chives, lemongrass, and pineapple slips (baby plants to grow your own pineapples)! First come first served. Should be fairly quiet, many people are away and this is late notice!

Please protect our farm family and your fellow farm supporters, by wearing a mask over your nose and mouth, and maintaining 6-10 feet. Bring change, or a check and a pen, we’re not handling cash. Bring your own bag, basket or box for your purchase. We appreciate everyone cooperating for the most vulnerable in our community by continuing the marathon of practicing all social distancing and COVID precautions.

It is a sad anniversary, 9/11/2001 is now 20 years in the rearview mirror but we can look back and reflect on where we were that day (Christina was in Brooklyn and Luca was here on the farm), what it means to be an American, and how we can all do small things to take personal responsibility, and make our world a better, safer, more equitable, inclusive and peaceful place.
