ARTfarm Back-to-School Bounty!

It’s back to school time, and what says “Go get ’em tiger!” better than some fresh figs in their lunch box?

Saturday morning at ARTfarm, 10am – 12 noon: Microgreens, baby arugula greens (special for you, Virgil!), sweet lettuce mix, cucumbers, Bodhi beans, sweet yellow corn, basil, recao, thyme, garlic chives, lemongrass, sweet potato greens, lots of figs, strawberry guavas, young fig trees, pineapple slips, papayas from Reuben, fresh breads from Tess, ice cream from I-Sha, Wanda’s raw local honey.

ARTfarm Figgy Summer Saturday

ARTfarm Saturday, August 24th, 10am – 12 noon: Fresh figs by the box full, microgreens, teen sweet salad mix, bunched arugula, bunched sweet potato greens, cucumbers, yard long beans, garlic chives, lemongrass, recao, thyme, sage, Italian basil, pineapples, strawberry guavas (pictured), vegan ice cream from I-Sha in banana and soursop flavors, raw local honey from Wanda, fresh artisanal hearty loaves and bagels from Tess, papaya from Reuben’s Solitude Farm. In the nursery: young potted fig trees, cocoa trees, moringa trees, pineapple slips!

Figs will be available today both in the mixed boxes and solid green or solid purple.

Saturday morning 10am – 12 noon at ARTfarm, August edition: Microgreens, teen lettuce mix, cucumbers, Bodhi beans, lemongrass, garlic chives, recao, Italian basil, pineapples, lots of fresh figs! In the ARTfarm nursery: fig, cocoa and moringa trees, ginger plants (edible type), pineapple slips, and native shade trees. From our partners: mangoes from Tropical Exotics, papayas and dragon fruit from Solitude Farm, giant avocados from A Good Friend’s Garden, raw summer honey from Wanda, bread and bagels from Tess!

ARTfarm No Farmstand Farmstand Fig Frenzy Today, 5:30 – 6 PM…

Well, we said we were closing our farmstand for the rest of the summer on Wednesdays. But the fig trees did not get the memo! We have a lot of fresh figs that we are eager to distribute to hungry fig lovers!

So today, we will offer fresh organically grown ARTfarm figs in half pound, 1 pound, and 2 pound boxes. We will not be selling any other products today, just the figs from 5:30 to 6pm.

Figs are high in potassium and one of the fruits that is highest in fiber. It’s hard to believe, because they are so delicate and delicious. I have likened them to the flavor of a perfect sunrise, and I think that description still rings true.

(*If you can get a hold of either the Madagascar Vanilla, Soursop, or the Ginger Vanilla flavors from Jacky and Carole over at Jaccar Sorbet in Gallows Bay, and slice a bunch of fresh sweet figs on top of that creamy frozen perfection, you will be transported to another plane of existence. I can promise you from personal experience.)
