IF YOU DID NOT GET AN EMAIL FROM US WITH AN ORDER NUMBER, WE CANNOT FILL YOUR REQUEST. Please for everyone’s health and safety, DO NOT come to the farm unless we have confirmed your order already via email.
Good morning, dear loyal ARTfarm customers. We hope everyone is feeling healthy.
After carefully reading through the escalating and almost surreal coronavirus/COVID-19 news reports, and strong recommendations for social distancing by epidemiologists around the globe and our USVI Governor Albert Bryan Jr. this morning, AND considering our family and customer demographics, limited local health care resources, and the risks associated, we have decided to temporarily change our produce distribution plan and curtail regular farmstands for the the next few weeks at a minimum, to avoid crowds of people coming into personal contact with each other and with us, at the farm.
We will NOT BE OPEN for retail shopping on Saturday. We are going to try an experiment in ‘box sales’ ONLY for Saturday. The first 40 people to sign up with the form at the bottom of this here webpage can opt for one pre-selected, pre priced box of ARTfarm produce, to be delivered right to your car window from our ‘drive-through’ parking lot on Saturday, in staggered pick up shifts.
We will have 10 large and 30 28 small ‘boxes’ available, and you, our customers, will commit arriving in one of three pick up shifts to avoid long waits, traffic issues and crowds forming.
Small box, $15, Budget Shopper, will include:
- 1 bag of sweet salad mix
- 1 cucumber
- 2 assorted herb bunches
- 1 bag of a mix of ginger and turmeric
- 1 onion mini bunch
SOLD OUT Large box, $61, Veggie Lover, will include:
2 bags of sweet salad mix1 bag of baby spicy salad mix1 bag of baby arugula1 pint of cherry tomatoes1 cucumber1 bunch of cooking greens2 assorted herb bunches1 bag of a mix of ginger and turmeric1 bunch of onions
We apologize for the inconvenience. We know how much our customers enjoy socializing and choosing their own produce items. We are also sorry about the sudden dip in tomato and watermelon production. But there is still much to be grateful for. Here’s how to get a box of fresh harvested ARTfarm goodness Saturday:
- To reserve a box, please fill in the box order form at the bottom of this webpage (artfarmllc.com) completely with your name, phone number, email address, name and phone number of pickup person, and choose your preference for box size and pickup time. One box per customer (unless demand is low by late Friday). It is by online reservation only and you MUST COMMIT to pickup! Super bad karma if you reserve and don’t show up or call. Please help us help the community.
- We will respond by email to give you an order number, confirm your requested box size and pick up time, and your total; or let you know if you’re on the standby list.
- Please arrive at the requested time to pick up your box. Please bring your own box, basket or shopping bag that we can transfer your box of food into, and exact change or a check for payment at pickup.
Please know that we are trying this method to distribute food to as many folks as possible with limited contact, to increase health outcomes in the community. We are not allowing any substitutions in the boxes. If there is an item you don’t like, please take it home and share it with a neighbor, or you can opt to leave it with us and we will distribute it to the next lucky customer. These are prix fixe prices, so similar to a CSA, we will not substitute or adjust the cost of a box if you refuse an item. Again, please BRING EXACT CHANGE or a check made out to ARTfarm LLC, we want to keep these transactions brief.
We hope everyone will make smart choices over the next days and weeks, and stay healthy and community-minded during this unprecedented global health crisis. Please remember that even if you feel you personally are not ill or at serious risk from the coronavirus/COVID-19, you, your family members or coworkers could be asymptomatic but unknowingly spread the virus until it reaches someone who is vulnerable. Show your elders you care!
We are, personally, temporarily moving to virtual hugs and social distancing to help slow and stagger the inevitable spread of this virus in our community. You can always send and receive ARTfarm love through social media, our website, email or texting for the next few weeks or until the epidemic risk has lessened.
This is an experiment, so please feel free to leave us feedback on the box concept and selections. We may adjust the offerings in subsequent weeks. We welcome your thoughts.
