ARTfarm is open today, 3–6 p.m. on the South Shore with the following ‘tastes’ for St. Croix: Sweet salad mix, spicy salad mix, baby spicy salad mix, baby arugula, microgreens, cucumbers, cherry tomatoes, heirloom tomatoes, slicing tomatoes, ACTUAL baby carrots, beans, lots of kale, sweet potato greens, red mustard greens, onions, chili peppers, parsley, cilantro, Italian basil, holy basil, lemon basil, garlic chives, sage, cilantro, passionfruit, and raw local honey.
Here is your art for Art Wednesday, a small watercolor study that Luca did prior to the creation of this year’s Taste of St. Croix poster:
Hi Luca — I love these emails, but they routinely appear in my inbox in the evening, hours later than you apparently send them out. This one just now arrived. Other emails I receive seem to arrive within a few minutes of their being sent; for some reason there seems to be a delay of several hours between when you send them and when I receive them. I wonder whether perhaps it’s your server? And whether I am the only one on your mailing list this is happening to? -Marna

Hi Marna! Thanks for your comment, I’m glad you are enjoying the posts.
We also receive a copy of the farm email. Ours arrives just moments after publication. In order for the email to be received by us, it has to be published on our hosting server (WordPress – an international provider) and then sent to our web-based email account and finally downloaded by our local ISP onto the device we read it on. Since those communication links are working for us, I am guessing that the problem lies somewhere between the WordPress server and your computer or device fetching its mail.
It may depend upon the email settings you have on your computer or smartphone, or on your service provider. It saves battery power for your devices to check email less frequently, so if you have any power saving preferences set for your email device, it may be only checking your email a few times a day. Also, some browsers or email programs, or smart phones, may be set up to only check your email when your network connection is active (versus your cellular data connection), or to only check your email when you log in or manually refresh your inbox.
It is confusing to me if (if I understood you correctly) you are receiving other emails throughout the day at the same email address as you are subscribed to the farm posts at, but not our emails.
I do check to make sure the email has been published properly, by receiving my own copy and it does show up in my inbox pretty instantaneously.
I would look into the preferences you can set on your email device, and see if there is something in there that is not checking your email as frequently.
